What you'll learn in this acls class:

AHA HeartCode ACLS is a self-directed, comprehensive eLearning program that uses eSimulation technology to allow students to assess and treat patients in virtual healthcare settings. To enter the course, students must complete a precourse self-assessment. Students will then be presented with a team dynamics lesson and 10 In-hospital patient cases, including a BLS case and 2 megacode cases. The cases may be repeated as many times as necessary to pass. Upon successful completion of all the patient cases, students will take a multiple choice exam and must pass with a minimum score of 84%.

Who Should Attend
AHA HeartCode ACLS is for healthcare professionals and others seeking an alternative delivery method for completing ACLS training. This course is designed for healthcare providers who need ACLS for their clinical duties. This group of professionals includes physicians, nurses, paramedics, respiratory therapists, pharmacists and others as required by their employer.

Course Content

  • Apply the BLS, Primary, and Secondary Assessments sequence for a systematic evaluation of adult patients
  • Perform prompt, high-quality BLS, including prioritizing early chest compressions and integrating early AED use
  • Recognize and perform early management of respiratory arrest
  • Discuss early recognition and management of ACS and stroke, including appropriate disposition
  • Recognize and perform early management of bradyarrhythmias and tachyarrhythmias that may result in cardiac arrest or complicate resuscitation outcome
  • Recognize and perform early management of cardiac arrest until termination of resuscitation or transfer of care, including immediate post–cardiac arrest care
  • Model effective communication as a member or leader of a high-performance team
  • Evaluate resuscitative efforts during a cardiac arrest through continuous assessment of CPR quality, monitoring the patient’s physiologic response, and delivering real-time feedback to the team
  • Recognize the impact of team dynamics on overall team performance
  • Discuss how the use of a rapid response team or medical emergency team may improve patient outcomes
  • Define systems of care

Class Materials

All student content is contained within theAHA HeartCode ACLS online portion, so no additional student materials are needed. A variety of additional videos, as well as the ACLS Provider Manual and the 2015 Handbook of Emergency Cardiovascular Care are included to enhance learning and facilitate successful completion of the patient cases

Course Format and Exam (Part 2 = 1 hour) After completion of the online portion, students attend a structured instructor-led classroom session that focuses on meaningful skills practice, debriefing, team scenarios, discussions of local protocols, and skills testing.

Refund Policy

Cancellation

If you must cancel your registration for any reason please contact us via email, [email protected] with your request and explanation.

  • Cancellations requested more than 4 business days prior to a scheduled class may receive a refund, less a $5.00 administrative fee.
  • We will not issue refunds for cancellations within 4 business days of the scheduled class or for missed classes. In these cases, you forfeit your payment, or may pay the $20.00 rescheduling fee to attend a scheduled class on a different date.
  • Online courses, keycodes and URLs assigned to a student are non-refundable, non-returnable and non-transferrable.

Rescheduling

If you registered and paid for a class, but can’t make that particular date or time, you may reschedule. Requests must be made in writing, emailed to [email protected], for our documentation purposes.

  • If you reschedule within 4 business days of your scheduled class, or after a missed class, a $20.00 rescheduling fee applies.

No-Show

If a registered student does not show up to their scheduled class and has not rescheduled, they are considered a no-show and forfeit the complete paid registration fee.

  • No-show students may reschedule for a different date, and will be responsible for the $20.00 rescheduling fee.
  • Special exceptions may be considered on a case-by-case basis due to emergencies and other circumstances.

Low Enrollment and/or Emergency Cancellation

The school reserves the right to cancel classes at anytime, due to low enrollment and/or any unforeseen events, such as an emergency that’s due to severe weather, instructor illness/injury, family emergencies etc… In those unlikely events, we will make every attempt to contact you. Participants in these courses will receive priority enrollment in the next available class, and be given the option to reschedule or receive a full refund less a 5% non-refundable registration fee.

In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
