Whether you know us as "extension," "continuing education," "community education," or "lifelong learning," we represent a 3rd type of educational offerings community colleges in California can do besides classes "for-credit" (for degrees and certificates and with financial aid possible), or free, "noncredit" courses for basic skills development and career training.
In a nutshell, Community Services offers classes, events and other offerings for just about anyone in the community - old or young, resident or not, training for a career or just looking to have a good time. Our offerings are not-for-credit (no transcripts, degrees or CA Community College Certificate programs), and are 100% supported by fees or donations/contributions. We're kind of like public TV or radio, but the education version!
We help folks learn a skill, try out new things and connect with LACC and our neighbors in an educational setting.
Community Services Mission
To provide a wide array of student and community-supported classes, workshops, seminars, excursions, recreational and other offerings to all members of the community. We aim to contribute to the physical, mental, moral, economic and civic development of our surrounding community and in doing so, foster a sense of community and neighborhood.
Community Services strives to achieve the following program outcomes:

Ms. Blanca was an exceptional teacher. I love her enthusiasm, passion and her great energy that she had with us all. Not to mention she took her time to really explain and teacher us properly how to make our decorations, homemade frosting and homemade fondant.
I really enjoyed this class very much.
Thank you Blanca... Keep doing a great job!!!

I really enjoyed this class and found it the content/materials supplied very helpful! I'd love to see what other classes he teaches that I might be interested in checking out.
There were some minor tech issues throughout but that wasn't the teachers fault.

Very informative. I've achieved much more knowledge through the process of taking this class. The instructor himself provides specific details on subjects and is very helpful to further explain if you have additional question's. I would definitely recommend taking this course! It will open your horizon!

Instructor went at a good pace. Took time to answer questions and to show techniques more than once if someone requested.

It was the Teachers fault. It’s just a challenge to be able view and to know if you are doing it right

Professor Rosie Reed is very knowledgeable, patient, she answers all your questions, She really gives her all to this class and really wants us all to pass. On our breaks and lunch she tries to come back early to answer any questions. At the end of the course she also made herself available if we had questions afterwards. I like to always be prepared so of course once she emailed the manual I made sure to take the time and read it and take my own Notes that way when I started the class course I wasn’t completely lost. I knew what she was talking about. I highly suggest you do the same. Don’t just go to the class and think everything is going to be reviewed you have must read.
Just be prepared when you’re going to start the zoom class, have everything ready ahead of time, be logged in 10 minutes prior, have your ID. just follow the instructions.
I highly recommend this class course.

This was a great intro class to Accent reduction. Ms. Greer is a phenomenal teacher. Incredibly engaging and skilled. One of the best classes I have ever taken. The two hours on the class flew by. I learned a lot and I could not recommend this course more. It would be great if LACC offered longer courses on the topic or more advanced courses to keep learning with Ms. Greer.
