About Behind the Seams

Daniel Eden Feld is a fashion designer with a background of French-Moroccan and Israeli descent, revered for his immaculate creative eye within the sophisticated realm of luxury markets, high-end ready to wear and contemporary design. Growing up in Israel and later moving to the states, his diverse cultural background allowed Daniel to view the world with great appreciation for its deep richness through a lens of opulent refinement.

In 2001, Feld moved to New York to pursue a career in the fashion industry. There he trained at the Pratt Institute of Art and Design and the Fashion Institute of Technology. After beginning his career working with Donna Karan and Zac Posen, Daniel was eager to break out on his own. He quickly landed a spot on the Emmy award-winning show Project Runway, which led to a myriad of exciting opportunities including designing uniforms for the New York Yankees, promotional sci-fi ensembles for the Audi A-4 car launch, Burlesque, ballet ensembles, and customizing Country Music Awards performance pieces for Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift. In that time, Daniel became a spokesperson for Brother International, speaking to young entrepreneurs at universities across the U.S. about the fashion industry. He was also a fashion commentator for segments on KTLA and Good Day New York as well as an honorary judge for the famous FIT/Parsons Fashion Show. Feld went on to win GEN ART’s New Garde Grant with a capsule showcasing sculptural creations. The collection was titled “Oceanic structures” and boasted critical acclaim. It was widely received at Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week and was hosted by Molly Sims.

Daniel’s passionate interest in nature eventually shaped his creative outlook, drawing inspiration from the structures, color palettes, and rituals of each species that intrigued him. He celebrates these unique qualities as a form of artistic expression, displayed throughout his career. Using his natural gift of design and his profound sense of curiosity, Daniel studies each impeccable detail of his inspiration and translates that vision into his work. Additionally, Feld’s attention to the history of fashion provides him with a deep understanding of the meaning of each design detail. His favorite era of the silver screen is Film Noir. The sultry aesthetic evokes the sophistication and sexy splendor that Daniel adores. This love affair with both glamour and nature defines Daniel’s signature style in the design world.

Daniel’s pedigree consists of some of fashion’s most prestigious houses, including Donna Karan, Reem Acra, Zac Posen, Naeem Khan, Amsala, and BCBG, as well as custom designing for an elite clientele, princesses, and political figures. His designs have received attention from numerous celebrities including Gigi Hadid, Taylor Swift, Eva Longoria, Paris Hilton, Hailey Baldwin, Heather graham, and Mena Suvari to name a few, having many of his ground grazing designs grace the red carpet.

Additionally, Feld has consulted and launched numerous labels into the arena of success repeatedly selling out at luxury department stores and online retailers. His adaptability and understanding of various markets first-class innovation and impeccable understanding of construction had led Feld to great opportunities including tailoring in Italy, dressmaking in Paris, and offering creative direction to countless ateliers. Today Daniel resides in the City of Angels and is working on his ready-to-wear line, inspired by the exquisite structural beauty of wings, and is looking forward to great opportunities the future holds for him.
