Question from Cheri C.
I took the Beginner's Draw in June. It was a great class, but it was a little hard to hear the teacher. I was also wondering if I take it again in the Autumn in Central Park will it be in the same location at "The Pool" or do you go to other parts of Central Park?
Answer from Chermalyn P. CourseHorse StaffCourseHorse Staff
Hi, Cheri! This class does meet in the same area each time because it's not as populated with tourists. As per the studio, they have had return students take the class in Central Park and they focus on different objects or landscapes to draw.

Question from Nicholas T.
Does the class meet for just one day, or do students have classes over a period of time? If the latter, over how long?
Answer from Sarah S. CourseHorse StaffCourseHorse Staff
This class is a single-session class. You can view the number of sessions of a class by checking out the Start Dates below, underneath the Location Map.

The instructor was on time for the class. His explanation about the lesson was very clear. I enjoyed the class.

It was a beautiful day to be drawing in Central Park. I appreciated the initial instruction and the flexibility. However, more individual attention and guidance would have been helpful. There was one instructor for 12 people so it understandably took time for him to get to everyone throughout the 2 hours. I felt a little stuck.

I feel I didn’t learn as much as I hoped. But instructor was knowledgeable.

Absolutely terrific. Jessie was wonderful...lowkey, helpful, patient...excellent in demonstrating points such as ways to hold pencil...like a harmonica; explaining the differences in the numbering/lettering of pencils and what each drew; suggestions of views; using eraser as a tool for drawing....and list goes on. She walked around constantly checking with each of the seven of us. Her sense of humor and phrasing were also appreciated.

It was an enjoyable drawing class. I wished the instructor was a little more prepared with the materials beforehand. After we started, she encouraged us to find a spot. I moved down a little closer to the pond. Unfortunately the instructor didn't see me and didn't realize there was one less student in the class. Thus, I didn't get much guidance until the very end when the class ended. It was less than ideal.
