What you'll learn in this floral design class:

IKEBANA, one of the most traditional artforms of Japan, represents “Appreciation of Nature” which is a unique and very sophisticated way to learn how to arrange flowers.

In this small group in-person course, we provide an opportunity for people of all levels to learn the O'hara style Ikebana which is one of the most established Ikebana institutions in the world. Here, you will not only master the basic Ohara Ikebana techniques, but you will also learn how to associate nature into your everyday life. For those who seek to reach a higher level, we will introduce you to the Ohara curriculum and class card system where you can receive certifications from the headquarter in Tokyo.

This class was very overpriced! 10 minutes of instruction. 5 flowers which you arranged, had to disassemble and had to carry home in a piece of paper. I have never taken a flower class where you didn’t have a completed arrangement to take home. A rip off.

So fun! One of a kind experience. The teacher and TAs were attentive and helpful. You get to take the flowers home but you’ll need to buy everything else to recreate the flower arrangement.
