Learn the art of hot casting glass using Zircar Mold Mix molds in this one-of-a-kind workshop. Discover how to create unique solid glass objects and make reusable molds for glass casting and blowing. No previous experience is required.
In this intermediate hot shop class we will explore the world of glass color. Using frit, bar and powders students will learn foundational color applications such as bar overlays and can expect to learn some wild and wacky color techniques as well.
What to Expect: Students should have a foundational knowledge of blown glass and are expected to have made basic blown forms in the past. This class is a color class and will ONLY use the cylinder form to explore color. The focus will be on mastering different color techniques so that students can feel comfortable applying them in their future works.
Eligibility: Previous glassblowing experience required. You should have 1-2 years of experience, and feel comfortable gathering and moving through the steps of making a basic cup. Don’t feel ready yet? Check out our more introductory classes to build your skills. Open to ages 14 and up.
Pick-up: The glass needs to cool down overnight each week, so the students will have to return to UrbanGlass once notified to pick up their work.
This is an in-person class taking place on-site at UrbanGlass. Health and safety guidelines will be emailed to you upon registration.

Enrollment cancellations made outside sixteen (16) days from the first day of class are eligible for a refund less a 5% processing fee. Refunds will not be granted for any cancellations made inside sixteen (16) days from the first day of class, or for withdrawals during class.
In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
