Fraternal & Prong Settings

Fraternal setting is a decorative technique used in Victorian and Art Deco jewelry. The process involves embedding an ornament or stone into a main stone. Prong setting is popular in the commercial jewelry world. Students will learn to cut seats and with the use of special pliers secure the stones into the settings.  Tuition includes $35 material fee for settings and stones, which are provided by the instructor in class.

Cuffs and Bangles

Students will design and create 2-3 projects depending on complexity. This class will focus on making a fold formed cuff, a spring hinged bangle, and a simple forged twist wire bracelet.  Materials and supplies will be available to purchase for approximately $25.
