What you'll learn in this metal working class:

In this hands-on workshop, students will learn how to cast low-temperature metals at home. Students will make sand molds and cuttlefish bone molds, as well as pour molten metal.

Join this workshop and turn your kitchen into a foundry.

No experience or materials required for this class. Everyone will take home the cast objects they've made in class.

Still have questions? Ask the community.

Refund Policy
If you're looking for a refund or class credit, you need to back out of the class a full week before it starts. (No exceptions!) We know it's draconian, but since we aren't charging an arm and a leg and have to buy all our materials in advance, it's kinda hard to deal with last-minute bailings.

We also can't transfer registrations to a future session of the class. Sorry!

Instead of dropping out if you have a schedule conflict, a better idea is to ask around and see if any of your friends want the spot. We can't give you a refund less than a week out, even if there's a wait list for the class.

Regarding bad weather, we generally only cancel classes if the subway system stops running. If traveling during snowstorms might be an issue for you, please take this into account before registering for a class.

Nikki and Jen were wonderful. Nikki is extremely talented and shared her knowledge of casting and metal work with great generosity. It was hands-on from the beginning and I left feeling confident and comfortable with my new skills. A very fulfilling experience from start to finish.

I found the class very interesting, but maybe a few more people than I would like. It seemed a little rushed at times to get through certain things and other times it felt like you are waiting for others to be done using the sand or the silicone, etc. Other than that I had a great time and would love to learn more
