Have you ever wondered what it is like to light a torch, set a flame, run a bead? In this session you will learn to braze a "Tea Light Candle Table" to take with you. We will discuss the many advantages of gas welding when setting up a shop, creating furniture, art, fabrication. etc.
What makes this Course unique is that it is taught by an artist who has experience teaching both sculptors and welders. She is a Part-time Associate Professor at Parsons School of Design, teaching Metal Fabrication. This class is an empowering experience for both beginners as well as people who have experienced welding in the past. The class is also unique because it will be "limited to 2 people" and we will were masks. The class structure is adhering to the current situation. You will receive individual help. The Studio has a wall of open windows for excellent ventilation.
Note: A Gate Pass will be emailed the day before the Welding session.Wear cotton clothes that can get dirty. Do not wear clothes you care about. Long cotton pants or jeans are best. Wear closed toe shoes and socks. Bring a long sleeved sweat shirt or long sleeved cotton shirt. Welding gear, gloves, and welding goggles are supplied and included with session. There is no fee for metal.
