5:30–7pm PDT
Meets 4 Times
This class introduces several approaches to help students deepen their practice in observational still life painting. We will be focusing on creating paintings with a more intentional and better understood use of color.
Through guided technical experimentation, we will also cover the fundamentals of composition, value, and mark-making. Brief slideshow lectures at the beginning of each class will provide students with a critical and foundational knowledge for assessing their own work. Students are encouraged to make work in whatever style they choose: realistically, expressionistically, abstractly, etc.
All levels are welcome.
