Description

What you'll learn in this pottery wheel class:

During this 5 week very intimate hands on experience you’ll learn how to create your very own one of a kind wheel thrown ceramic pieces from start to finish.
  • Students will receive one 25lb bag of white clay to use during the session. Additional colors are available to purchase.
  • This session will focus on the foundations of wheel throwing. We will touch on glazing with options to go more in depth during open studio hours.
  • This session includes access to tools, studio equipment, aprons, towels, etc.
  • Students will have their own shelf area to store their clay & pieces
  • BYOB - We will provide tea, coffee and some snacks
  • Students will have access to wheel throwing in the studio during open studio hours on Sunday (11am - 5pm) & Wednesday (4pm - 9pm) - studio is subject to closure so please contact the studio before arriving.
  • All pieces to be fired would be charged at .04 cents per cubic inch, which includes bisque and glaze fired. Would need to be paid in advance of being fired.
  • Full payment is due ahead of class. Please note that we do not offer refunds or transfers.
  • Once the session is over feel free to keep or donate any clay you haven’t used. We’ll have options for you to continue learning or attending the studio.
  • Students are allowed to take this class twice before moving onto an advanced class or studio membership.

Bring clothing that you are comfortable in as well as okay with getting dirty.

Located in beautiful Bushwick, Brooklyn, you'll meet us at our studio one block from the L Train's Dekalb stop. Our studio is located in the private basement of an apartment building, which leads out into the backyard. On a beautiful sunny day we will enjoy creating in the backyard.
