Question from Anonymous
Hi, I am looking to take the pillow making course in August in Midtown. It states it's for beginners but I don't have experience sewing using a machine. Should I take a sewing class prior?
Answer from Georgia C. CourseHorse StaffCourseHorse Staff
Hi there! The class can definitely be suitable for beginners. You may want to take their Sewing Machine Basics Workshop, as it goes a little more in-depth into how to thread the sewing machine and the project is a bit simpler for that class, but if you just wants to just take the Pillow Workshop, it should still be okay.

Question from Kimberly S.
Hello. Is the sewing in this course done by hand or via sewing machine? Thanks! Kim
Answer from Georgia C. CourseHorse StaffCourseHorse Staff
Hi Kimberly, they use sewing machines in all of their classes. They can also teach hand sewing in private lessons. Hope that helps!

Great that definitely helps. Thank you!

I learned a lot and had a great time! The instructors were very knowledgeable and I was allowed to ask as many questions as I wanted. Well worth the time and money. Can't wait to take another class.

Great instructor, I left with a finished pillow!

The venue is great, and the instructor was helpful. However, the patterns provided for the pillows were really really limited in variety, and it was a dash to try to get the least ugly one first. They were clearly the cheapest cloth available that didn't sell. If you're hoping to actually use what you're making in this course, then it's definitely not worth it. But as a standalone learning experience it was good.
