What you'll learn in this french cooking class:

What could be nicer than a hearty French coq au vin on a chilly day? Not much! In creating this delicious 3-course meal, you’ll learn the classic method of cooking coq au vin, an aromatic chicken dish cooked in wine sauce. The secret, as with many French recipes, is in the sauce (there will be bacon). We serve it the traditional way, with a French baguette (did you know that?).  

You’ll also be sharpening your knife skills with Chef Paul’s signature butternut squash and green apple soup, and get insider’s tips for the secret of the no-fail French soufflé.

Miette means, "little crumb" in French. This name was chosen while giving cooking classes at the restaurant Tartine in the West Village. Since Tartine means "slice of bread" we thought it an appropriate name for the school!

There are 2 entrances located between Umbertos Clam House. One is to the left if facing the restaurant and that is 1 flight up the stairs you will need to press 11 then the green bell key and wait to be buzzed in. The other is to the right of the restaurant that is a black street level elevator and just press the elevator button to gain access and go to the 2nd floor. There is also an intercom system there as well in case the elevator is locked. Closest Train stations are: B,D at Grand Street,N, R, J, Q, 6 at Canal Street. Parking is available on Elizabeth & Mott between Hester and Canal Street.
