What you'll learn in this whiskey class:

Get immersed in a Japanese whiskies journey with a whisky expert who has lived in Japan and knows the master distillers!

The goal? You will learn how to better know, compare and enjoy Japanese whiskies!

This session is very interactive, quite fun and educational and you can ask any question!

Being at home is probably the best spot to learn how to taste: you are undisturbed, you know your environment and then can focus much more easily into the whisky tasting. Your senses will be at work optimally to experience these great expressions.

How does this work?

After you book, you receive your kit with instructions on how you should prepare.
Two days prior the session, you receive the zoom link to connect to computer, iPad, smartphone. Better with a webcam.

Session content:

Whisky making process and new rules for the Japanese whiskies
How to taste a whisky – guidance
Guided tasting of five Japanese whiskies of various profiles

Selection

Ichiro’s Malt and Grain, from the iconic Chichibu distillery and its Master distiller Ichiro Akuto
Hibiki Harmony, from the Suntori’s three Japanese distilleries, blended by Master Shinji Fukuyo
Nikka Coffey grain, a unique make for a very distinctive expression created by Tadashi Sakuma, the master distiller
White oak single malt, a unique expression collected directly at the distillery
Cosmo Mars Maltage from the Hombo Shuzo distillery, also collected directly at the distillery in the Japanese Alps.

Remote Learning

This course is available for "remote" learning and will be available to anyone with access to an internet device with a microphone (this includes most models of computers, tablets). Classes will take place with a "Live" instructor at the date/times listed below.

Upon registration, the instructor will send along additional information about how to log-on and participate in the class.

Refund Policy

Tasting Session

There is no refund after the material is shipped. As we offer regular sessions, you can reschedule at no cost.
Before the material is shipped, a refund will be issued less a 15% cancellation fee. It takes around ten business days for our payment platform to recredit your account.

Before the material is shipped, and as the electronic handbook was sent at booking, a refund will be issued, less $100. It takes around ten business day to our payment platform to recredit your account.

For the whiskey and food experience

For cancellations more than 6 business days prior to the experience, there is a 15% cancellation fee.
For cancellations less than 6 business days prior the experience, there is a 50% cancellation fee (corresponding to the deposit).
Food being perishable, the potential reschedule is to be evaluated on a case by case basis.

Should the school cancel a session or a course, the student may choose between a refund less a 5% non-refundable registration fee or reschedule towards another date.
