Thanks to modern science, the benefits of holistic medicine are increasingly recognized by conventional Western medicine, but navigating the different options can be a challenge. There is a wide variety of terms to describe non-conventional approaches to healthcare (e.g. holistic, alternative, integrative, functional, complementary, naturopathic, homeopathic, etc.), many of which offer a range of treatment modalities to improve your health (e.g. herbal medicine, nutrition, homeopathy, acupuncture, and mindfulness, etc.).
This presentation will demystify the language of non-conventional medicine and clarify how to determine if a practitioner is appropriately trained to safely and effectively treat common conditions such as indigestion, heartburn, headaches, insomnia, fatigue, and more. You will also learn a few simple natural remedies that can be used at home to improve your health.
