Intensive: Machinal

For actors and directors, some of the most gratifying work happens in the rehearsal room. In this intensive, director Kimberly Senior will lead you through the first week of a rehearsal process for Machinal by Sophie Treadwell. 

This workshop might be for you if you: 

• Are an actor or a director who wants to focus in on the process, not the final product. 
• Want to round out 2019 by challenging yourself with an intensive rehearsal process. 

In this workshop you will: 

• Take on multiple scenes and perhaps multiple roles, discarding traditional ideas of casting and gender, and instead focusing on doing the work. 
• Dive into this rich text together, and be asked to fearlessly jump into the world of the play on your feet and in the classroom. 
• Not have rehearsal outside of class, but rather be asked to do your actor or director homework on character and script analysis as you would while rehearsing a play for production. 

• The tools to effectively communicate with your scene partners and tackle any rehearsal room. 
• Confidence to make bold choices regardless of the play or role.

Admissions Qualifications

Successful candidates must participate in and pass an audition before registering for this program, schedule an audition at the "Request Info" submission above. All registrations are subject to approval by The Primary Stages Einhorn School of Performing Arts.
