Small Crew Production 101

Today, more and more companies are building in-house production teams to create ongoing content for their products and services. Generally, this lends itself to creating smaller crews. Additionally, corporate video production companies have changed in terms of structure and their resources. While the equipment has gotten better and less expensive, the crews have gotten smaller. With this new production landscape in mind, this full day workshop will focus on small, to no crew, corporate video production.

This workshop is led by Jem Schofield, producer, DP, director, and educator. His creative firm, Buttons Productions, is a group of passionate individuals that works on projects with corporate clients, the film, television and music industries and, their own internally produced projects.

Students will be hands on with current cinema cameras, lenses, related support gear, audio, and lighting that are best suited for small scale production teams. You will learn the most effective ways to help your clients realize their creative goals with the technology currently available to you. Topics will include project planning, lighting, camera & lens tips & tricks, effective sound recording, working with talent, traveling with gear, green screen production and working effectively as small crews and getting great results.
