What you'll learn in this entrepreneurship course:

Our Online Master Class in Corporate Innovation is a hands-on, experiential workshop consisting of 4 three-hour sessions held over one week (with practical “fieldwork” between all sessions). It provides participants with foundational skills and mindsets that they can immediately apply to help their organization create and launch new initiatives and develop lasting competitive advantage. Participants will learn tools drawn from the latest innovation methodologies, including from design thinking, creativity research, lean startup, and strategic communications.

  • Gain a practical innovation toolkit consisting of the latest skills from lean startup, design thinking, creativity research, and strategic communications.  
  • Learn the fundamentals of innovation architecture, including how to spread these skills and mindsets throughout your organization.
  • Receive continual personal guidance from GIANT senior facilitators, as well as one hour of post-workshop coaching to help you implement what you have learned back at the office.
  • Connect with corporate innovation practitioners from around the world who can serve as an important resource to leverage your efforts.

  • Receive certification as a GIANT “Innovation Practitioner,” which is a prerequisite for becoming a certified GIANT “Innovation Facilitator.”

What is the agenda?

SESSION 1: REFRAMING AND DESIGN THINKING

  • Ethnographic interviewing and observation techniques.
  • Opportunity spaces and “How might we” questions.
  • Customer journey maps to uncover opportunities for customer-inspired innovation.
  • Jobs-to-done theory of innovation to understand customer needs.                               

SESSION 2: CREATIVITY AND LEAN STARTUP

  • Myths and facts around where good ideas really come from.
  • Introduction to lean startup and understanding key concepts: Customer development, business model assumption ranking, business model innovation, and the Build-Measure-Learn loop.
  • Collecting unbiased data through effective problem and solution interviews with customers (including dos and don’ts).    
  • Solution testing and MVP design.

OPTIONAL: CORPORATE INNOVATION ROUNDTABLE

  • Meet and learn from from corporate innovation leaders from a variety of industries and organizations.

SESSION 3: LEAN STARTUP AND CREATING ORG BUY-IN

  • Running advanced experiments and launching concepts.
  • Pitch training, including non-verbal and verbal communications tools.  
  • Managing organizational politics around innovation and overcoming organizational barriers.  
  • Reflection and discussion on the entire course and how to apply what was learned back in participants’ home organization.

Remote Learning

This course is available for "remote" learning and will be available to anyone with access to an internet device with a microphone (this includes most models of computers, tablets). Classes will take place with a "Live" instructor at the date/times listed below.

Upon registration, the instructor will send along additional information about how to log-on and participate in the class.
