What you'll learn in this social media class:

Have you been dreaming of starting your own podcast, but don’t have the slightest idea where to start? Have you opened GarageBand and been terrified by how many digital knobs there were? Have you listened to WTF and wondered “could that be me??”

Luckily, these days it doesn’t cost much or even take all that much effort to get your show online where anyone can listen AND have it sound professional.

Intro to Podcasting will cover:
  • Coming up with an idea for your podcast
  • Deciding the best format for your show
  • Equipment you need to get started
  • General recording & exporting tips in Apple’s GarageBand
  • How to get your podcast on iTunes and RSS feeds
By the time you leave this course, you’ll see just how affordable and easy it is to get your show to the masses!
School Notes: OUTSIDE FOOD & DRINKS ARE NOT ALLOWED. QED has coffee, tea, soda, beer & wine plus snacks and pre-made wraps and sandwiches available.

Refund Policy
We require at least seven (7) days' notice before a class in order to issue a refund and there are no transfers to future classes allowed. We're a small operation and purchase our own supplies and keep classes extremely affordable, so we have to operate this way just to stay in business.

But, all is not lost, tickets are transferable meaning we will allow anyone to take your place in class, so check around with your friends to see if someone else would like your spot.

In case of bad weather, classes WILL always take place unless the subway system is closed down. If you have issues traveling, please keep this in mind when you purchase your ticket. If we do cancel for weather or an emergency, we will try to reschedule the class on the same day of the week at the same scheduled time as soon as possible. If you cannot make the rescheduled date, we will refund you the price of your seat.

when is the next class scheduled for? I cannot attend the one this February
Answer from Georgia C. CourseHorse StaffCourseHorse Staff
Hi there! As of now, the only available schedule is on Feb 24. We really can't say when will it be offered again. The school is the one giving us the schedule and there's no update on that as of yet. You can add it to your wish-list so you can be notified via email when new updates are made on the website.

Question from Thompson
Hi there, will i need to bring anything with me? Will we be learning the programs hands-on? Thank you :)
Answer from Brenda L. CourseHorse StaffCourseHorse Staff
Hi Thompson! Bringing a laptop to follow along is optional, but can be helpful for when you go through the actual process of recording. The school use Apple’s GarageBand, but a lot of what they go over is universal to most if not all recording software. I hope this helps!
Answer from Thompson
Thank you! Just to confirm then, laptops/computers are not provided correct?
Answer from Seth Q. CourseHorse StaffCourseHorse Staff
Yes, computers are provided. Bringing a laptop to follow along is optional.

Format was fun with the 2 instructors together. Need to be mic'd to be heard better. Should have had 2nd mic for some demonstrations. Learned enough and had fun. Good class. Thanks.

I would have given it 5 stars but there was a time constraint and to be 5 stars we needed more time to cover all the material completely.
