What you'll learn in this blueprint reading training:
Introduction to Blueprint Reading Certificate
Learning to read blueprints is an essential skill for designers, contractors, real estate brokers, and building owners. In this lecture and hands-on class, you will learn the vocabulary and language of blueprints. Topics covered include drawing scales, plan, elevation and section drawings, architectural symbols, and legends.
Learn To:
- Understand architectural scales
- Dimension and area drawings
- Understand drawing types and their functions
- Recognize and read a floor plan, section, and elevation
- Understand Blueprint symbols, notations, abbreviations, and material schedules
- Work with drawings on dimensions, finishes, details
- Apply knowledge to a project you are working on jobs.

This course will be conducted in an online format with the instructor and students together in a live video classroom.
Textbook: Students must purchase individually. Print Reading For Construction, 7th Edition WITH PRINTS
We are using the 7th edition.
Refund Policy
Tuition refunds are issued under the following conditions:
- 95% refund when a written withdrawal notice is received 2 business days prior to the first class meeting.
- 80% refund if a written notice is received 2 business days before the second class meeting.
- No refunds are given after the 2nd class meeting.
Please note: For classes less than 200 hours, there is a fee of $25 charged for withdrawals once classes begin.
If you give a withdrawal notice by telephone or otherwise withdraw without written notification, you will not receive a refund.
The school reserves the right to cancel any course or modify the schedule. This can also include cancellation at the first class meeting. In the event of such a cancellation, you will receive a full refund of all tuition and fees.
In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
