OSHA 30 Construction

The OSHA 30 course for the Construction Industry teaches construction workers how to identify, abate, avoid, and prevent job related hazards, as well as about their rights, employer responsibilities, and how to file a complaint. The course is a comprehensive safety program designed for anyone involved in the construction industry. The OSHA 30 is specifically compiled for safety directors, foremen, and field supervisors, and provides information on safety compliance issues.

In order to continue to operate in the City of New York, the designated construction worker and supervisor are required to complete a minimum number of hours of approved site safety training and to carry site safety identification cards as proof of completion of the training (As per New York City Local Law 196 of 2017 also known as ‘LL196’ or ‘Local Law’). This course provides 30 hours towards the satisfaction of that requirement.

Once you have completed the course and the mandatory course evaluation form, you will be issued a printable temporary certificate. You will get your official Department of Labor (DOL) card in the mail to the address you have provided during the registration process (please make sure of the accuracy of your address, including any apartment, suit, house number etc.)

Training Requirements

• 100% attendance of the class is mandatory
• Actively participate in all course activities
  
• Achieve a minimum passing score in the written assessment at the end of each module
• Completion of Evaluation Form at the end of the course

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:

• Understand worker’s rights and employer’s responsibilities under OSHA
  
• Identify and use relevant personal protective equipment (PPE) and other safety and protection equipment and devices
  
• Recognize unsafe scaffolding conditions and safely use scaffolding equipment
  
• Understand and explain mitigation measure related to the “fatal four” construction hazards
• Identify protective measures when working around, and in excavations
  
• Identify different types of fire and means of how to extinguish them
  

Make-Up Time: No make-up time is allowed for this course. Students who miss any portion of the course will need to make arrangements with PDH Star to attend another course. Additional course fees may apply.

Is a professional certificate available to students after completing their class?

Yes. The student will receive the official OSHA DOL card in the mail.
