What you'll learn in this writing class:

Not Genealogy 101 and not a giant memoir project, this workshop will encourage you to write down the little stories of your life, the ones that nobody else knows about. Did you have a fun birthday party when you were a kid? Who was your prom date? What is your favorite memory of your aunts and uncles or your grandparents? What can you remember about your neighbors or your teachers? Let’s tell your stories.

School Notes: OUTSIDE FOOD & DRINKS ARE NOT ALLOWED. QED has coffee, tea, soda, beer & wine plus snacks and pre-made wraps and sandwiches available.

Still have questions? Ask the community.

Refund Policy
We require at least seven (7) days' notice before a class in order to issue a refund and there are no transfers to future classes allowed. We're a small operation and purchase our own supplies and keep classes extremely affordable, so we have to operate this way just to stay in business.

But, all is not lost, tickets are transferable meaning we will allow anyone to take your place in class, so check around with your friends to see if someone else would like your spot.

In case of bad weather, classes WILL always take place unless the subway system is closed down. If you have issues traveling, please keep this in mind when you purchase your ticket. If we do cancel for weather or an emergency, we will try to reschedule the class on the same day of the week at the same scheduled time as soon as possible. If you cannot make the rescheduled date, we will refund you the price of your seat.

The best TV shows are addictive, beckoning us to bring the characters into our homes or onto our devices, episode after episode. Fiction is a wonderful conjuring act. With only words and the reader’s imagination, a work of fiction can sail across the world in pursuit of a whale, or time-travel to another dimension, or zero in on a few minutes in line at the local bank, enveloping the reader in a made-up story that feels real.  To pull off this feat requires a balance...

Dialogue is crucial to any kind of story—fiction, nonfiction, any kind of script. Bad dialogue can sink it like a...
