Very informative. Great for beginners. Teachers was awesome!

Pros: Teacher was friendly, receptive to questions, seemed knowledgeable Cons: Of the 8 "Takeaways" listed, we got through only 2.5 of them. Spent 1.5 hours talking about KPIs/Metrics which I would have never expected, then 1.5 hours just walking down the left hand column of Google Analytics giving a brief overview of some relevant sections. I didn't feel like I learned anything I couldn't have on my own just exploring Google Analytics for 30 minutes or so. If we had covered all of the Takeaways I would have been happy, but we hardly got started.

Could have been titled "Google Analytics for Beginners". It was a good basic overview class and I'm glad I took it, though it might be wise to teach a GA class for absolute beginners and another for those who have dabbled a bit but never been trained or maybe have not used GA for some time and need a refresher and knowledge of new features. Instructor was OK, a bit prone to generalizations ("2.5% is a great conversions rate") and somewhat excessive use of profanity. A "shit" or even F-bomb is not out of place in today's professional environment sometimes but every third sentence is a bit too much. He has a very engaging presentation style otherwise and it was clear he is knowledgeable and was very well prepared. I will def come back for more classes and will recommend Gen Assembly to colleagues.

The instructor was going way too fast and the information was too hard to digest. After the first 20 minutes I didn't understand anything. Overall I felt like there was a class before this one that I missed.

GOOD: The instructor was nice, knowledgeable, and attempted to answer all questions asked. The facility itself is comfortable and well-equipped. Plus, free coffee. NOT AS GOOD: The class format was scattershot - started 10-15 minutes late (not her fault - folks were late) and ended 60 minutes early, at which point she took questions from people who stayed behind. The middle lecture part, an overview of the program, was somewhat helpful, but could have used an outline or Powerpoint to stay on track; she stopped regularly to assist people at their computers, which ate up a lot of time. The lecture content should have been fleshed out significantly, as well. Analytics is an enormous program with a ton of practical applications, and even though it was an intro class, it felt like we barely scraped the surface. Disappointing.

Teacher was under-qualified and constantly answered questions with "I don't know, and "you can play around with it". Additionally teacher was 10 minutes late and spent 15 minutes plugging her own business, then she proceeded to end the class a hour early. In a 3 hour class that equates to half the time I paid for. Teacher did not tell students to have analytics set up before hand and lacked in demonstration. She was asked a fundamental question as to how can you use the data acquired in analytics and apply it to design. This question was left unanswered. This class was not as advertised and I am actively seeking a refund.

The location, classroom, facilities, and front desk individuals were all fantastic. The course itself was very disappointing. The instructor was not prepared with a a coherent lesson plan. After two slides discussing the "history" of Google Analytics, it simply became a mishandled demonstration of Google Analytics. The answers to several questions were simply incorrect, including an explanation of Bounce Rate. Other times, there was no answer at all. The instructor was very polite and wanted to help but her knowledge set and understanding of Google Analytics' tools was not acceptable. The instructor also ended the class at 9:00 PM, an hour early, but kept on answering questions because students requested the class continue. I came home and watched a 30-minute YouTube video on Google Analytics which was far more useful than this course ... and more accurate ... and free :) Thank you very much.

The instructor was friendly and open to questions, but he seemed to be there out of obligation. The projector kept shutting off, interrupting the presentation numerous times throughout class and breaking the learning flow every time it happened. He acknowledged that this was a chronic problem at GA, but he didn't seem to be able to remedy is until halfway through the class when he was consistently interacting with the computer and was thus keeping it awake that way. At times he expected too much from the students, wanting us to drive the majority of the class despite being beginners. On the flip side, he spent the latter part of the class clicking through GA's navigation as many of us would have done (or already had done) on our own time before seeking a professional's guidance and signing up for a class. I didn't leave the class feeling like I knew the system any better than I would have had I just sat down for three hours and explored it by myself.

This class covered a third of the material it said on the syllabus. I thought it would be helpful to take a beginner refresher course, even though I've used the product before, but in reality it was just a tour of the application. I can't imagine this would be helpful for anyone who had ever opened GA before. That being said, Gabe was a nice guy and seemed interested in making sure people understood.
