If you feel like you’re ready for the next level of expertise with D3.js, this class will cover more advanced topics in data visualization and the D3.js universe. You’ll learn how to use several features of D3.js including its general update pattern, reusable chart pattern, layouts, behaviors, and mapping.

Pre-requisite

Students should have a basic understanding of web fundamentals (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, DOM, SVG, HTML5 Canvas, etc.) as well as a basic knowledge of JavaScript’s functions, control statements, basic data types, and data structures. An awareness of data visualization and its benefits is useful as well.

Required Materials

Please bring a laptop with Google Chrome, Python, and a text editor installed. You should also be able to run Python commands from your command/terminal window.
