The grounds of this historic house, built in 1699, has had plenty of time to accumulate edible "weeds," and with lots of open, sunny spots, sheltering walls, and disturbed habitats, it will be a great place to find late-season herbs, greens, fruits, berries, and roots. Students attending this class will examine the mechanics of singing. Geared for both experienced and beginning vocalists. Breath control, range, pitch, and other essential aspects of the vocal art are addressed in detail. Note: Recommended as a co-requisite for the jazz and R&B vocal workshops.

Students will learn to use music editing software including Garage band and Pro Tools, and the semester will end in a culminating project. This course covers the following aspects of music technology: basic computer skills, microphones, principles of sound, MIDI, computer-based sequencing and notation, sound mixing, sampling, effects processing, and live audio. Note: Pre-requisite is Home recording level I

We have prepared students for New York State Regent exams since 2007. Our instructors are certified teachers and teach both content and testing strategies for the NTS Regent Exams. Students will receive 4 hours of review in an intimate small group setting. Student complete the course feeling prepared and with an independent study plan.
