First thing - this is by Dance Sport, and it's on level 4. I went in and was faced with a lift and some stairs, fortunately, there were people in exercise gear I could follow else I wouldn't know which floor to head to. We were in room B - there was this pillar that obstructed my view (of the instructor) and movement, so that was definitely annoying. Come early to get good spots in the class. I was about 5min late (went to the restroom) but that's my fault, hence a bad space to do my workout. But I do think a dance room really shouldn't have any pillars. The teacher was nice, she doesn't finger point you if you did wrong/working the wrong muscles, she mentions it in general, e.g. "I see some of you doing... ... ..., it should be done this way". I think that made me feel less embarrassed even though there were about 10 other people in class and it seems like everyone has done it before. Some of the moves were quite rapid so I would usually get lost. I did feel out of place but I got less and less conscious of how silly I looked and more and more focused on whether I was working the right area. Curriculum, as I mentioned, it doesn't really help if you're a first timer (to dance) because without knowing the steps, it leaves you wrong-footed. Overall though, if you go there with an open mind, relax and let loose, 80-85% of the time you should be able to follow the steps because they're repetitive. You do work out your muscles quite a bit, as for the intensity, it's really up to you, if you swing your arms more rigorously, and give the added spring in jumps, you're going to get more out of the class than walking through everything.
