I'm Allison. I got the idea for Ms. Fix It on a late summer day in 2018. I was standing in my kitchen, looking at these metal thingies I'd gotten at the Container Store for hanging up wine glasses.

I was very excited to hang them up. When I realized I didn't know how. And even if I did know how, I didn't own a drill.

This is pretty f'ng sad, I thought.

I set out to find a class where I could learn basic DIY skills (without feeling intimidated by my total lack thereof), while having fun and bonding with other women. When I didn't find one, I decided to start Ms. Fix It.

Attended: DIY Basics Cycle 3: Move-In Essentials

This was a very helpful primer to have a few skills and tools ready for moving and of course later small fixes and repairs. Getting used to using a drill/driver or a paint brush/roller is often the main hurdle and Allison, Tara and Laura made you feel very comfortable to just try and make mistakes and had great tips for projects going forward. Highly recommended.
