Martin Van Treuren

Teaches at The Barrow Group Acting School

For the last 15 years Martin Van Treuren has been part of TBG Community and has studied as an actor and teacher with Seth Barrish. He also has appeared in TBG productions of Uncle Vanya, Sonnets for an Old Century and Medal of Honor Rag. His career as a professional actor has spanned over 30 years, appearing on Broadway in Jekyl & Hyde, Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas, A Christmas Carol, Me and My Girl, and Singin’ in the Rain. Off-Broadway he played both Ruth and The Major General in the highly acclaimed production of The Pirates of Penzance (at NYC’s Seaport) as well as Blessing in Disguise, The Miser, Anyone can Whistle (Carnegie Hall), and Allegro (City Center Encores). He earned his BA in Theatre from Montclair State University.
