Antonia Perez is a mixed media artist, born and raised in New York City. With a background in painting, she currently mines the detritus of everyday life for evidence of the nature of contemporary quotidian culture, and uses her finds to make sculpture and works on paper. She has worked as an independent teaching artist with students of all ages for over 20 years, and is, at present, on the teaching staff of the Joan Mitchell Foundation. She exhibits locally and nationally and is represented in the inaugural exhibition of the Sugar Hill Children’s Museum of Art and Storytelling in October 2015.
