Awesome course!
-
The course at Brooklyn Glass was fantastic. Jessie and the other tutors were great at sharing their knowledge and kept us on track. I have always wanted to try glass blowing and I wasn’t disappointed

-
The class was great and the instructors were friendly, professional, and genuinely seemed to like teaching. It’s a real introduction into glass blowing and we made paperweights and bowls. I just wish the class started on time - while I know they want to wait for latecomers, everyone else ends up waiting. Definitely worth the money and travel though!
-
-
Teachers were very supportive of all skill levels and we each made 3 things!
-
-
Course teachers were excellent and very personable.
-
The instructors were great and the experience so much fun. Best thing—you get to walk out with a very cool piece of neon art.
-
Had a great time, the instructors were great, interesting, challenging and fun, would definitely recommend
-
-
Absolutely wonderful class - if you're on the fence, stop considering and sign up! The time flies, it's a lot of fun. Course instructors are very friendly and informative. The shop puts safety first, but still keeps the class fun. I just got home, but am already thinking about signing up again!
-
-
Such a great class. Super hands on, interesting and at the end, you walk away with a working neon light. So great. Highly recommended!
-
Very fun class- thought it was a good intro to help you decide if it's something you might want to pursue further. It was structured very nicely - never felt too rushed. Loved that we got to take home an abstract neon piece and learned some basic bends and techniques.
-
-
-
Super fun day out.
-
My wife and I had fun. Next time though I might wear different clothes to protect from the heat. Or if the studio had gloves or leather apron or something. Other than that it was a blast and have recommended to friends!
-
Really fun and and very hands on! You really learn the basics of blowing and pulling glass. We made some fun pieces and will definitly be taking another class here in the future!
-
-
-
Class was easy to follow and we had plenty of time to practice. The instructor was nice and very informative.
-
The class was Incredible! Alex, our instructor, made the class so interesting and made the process easy to understand.
-
first of all...the instructors were great. super nice. friendly and approachable. The issue was the class is waaaay to long for what it is and waaaay to expensive for what it is. In this 5 hour class you are interacting with glass for a total of maybe 10/15 minutes. A LOT of time is spent sitting around watching other people do stuff. I know a lot has to be explained but too much time is spent sitting around. For $220 i would expect a lot more time with the glass. Again, way to expensive for what it is. Working with the glass was fun but the instructors are really doing most of the work. I would highly suggest doing this in pairs for 1.5 hours and charging $100. Anything longer or more expensive i wouldnt be able to suggest to friends.
-
-
Truly an amazing experience! I loved everything about this class & immediately fell in love with glassblowing! Alex is a great teacher and the whole team is very helpful. Can’t wait to go back and continue learning from them. I highly recommend you take this course.
-
absolutely an amazing experience oh, Alex, the teacher was superb. The class was so inspiring that we are going to sign up for a more intensive course. Thank you Brooklyn glass
-
-
-
-
Great instructors. We learned and had the opportunity to do hands on practice and make two projects in one day.
-
-
I wasn’t able to attend the class due to an emergency and let them know day of. While this is completely my fault, it would be nice to be able to receive a discount off my next purchase of the same class, as I would still love to attend!
-
-
This class was a lot of fun the instructors were really
easy to work with and guided us all extremely well
-
My husband and I loved our course. Brooklyn Glass is a great facility with a very personable and safety conscious staff. We had a lot of fun and walked away with 2 wonderful pieces each. We can’t wait to take another course at Brooklyn Glass.
-
We had a lovely time taking this course! The instructors were so informative, and we got to make a couple projects in the allotted time. We felt like we learned a lot and were so mesmerized about the glass blowing process. Jessie was great, and we would recommend this experience to anyone!
-
The course was very informative, fun, extremely hot. Enjoy the small groups where you get the individual needed attention and assistance.
-
It was a fun class, I like how it’s a small group per teacher, per assistant teacher where you get the needed attention to make a finished product you’ll be happy to take home.
-
Loved it! Great teachers!
-
It was a great environment because the class size is small. The staff there is very patient and positive that guides you along the way. They understand practice makes perfect and due to the small class size, you get a good amount of practice and get a good amount of handmade [by you] pieces to take home.
-
-
The class was very informative and a great intro to glass making.
-
-
-
-
Not for me it's not the cleanest place for everyone to be blowing into a pipe with no option to clean it after each person.
The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly
-
-
-
The teacher and assistant were great and the format was excellent. We had all the equipment and space we needed to do all of the exercises. All the materials and tools were provided at just the right moment with an extraordinary array of choices of color and gas types. It was an amazing class taught by thorough professionals!
-
-
This class was so fun, and so informative!! I want to go back and learn more!
-
-
Awesome instructor. Really fun class. Would definitely recommend it and would absolutely do it again.
-
-
-
-
It was awesome! Mike and Haven were incredibly knowledgeable and taught well - would definitely do it again!
-
The class was great! We had 8 people in our class and were split into 3 groups so we got a good amount of time with our instructors. There’s a good amount of teamwork involved and the process requires slower, fluid motions - not what I expected walking in. We learned about the glass, the process, leaden about a few different techniques, made flowers and then made pumpkins. At the ends the instructors made a pumpkin inspired vessel for fun - cool to see them in their element, they make it look quite effortless. I haven't event picked up my pieces yet, but already want to go back for another class!
-
Teaching: Excellent
Subject: Interesting
Skill Level: Presented a challenge, but was not above all the students to master.
Comments; I would take more courses in glassblowing.

-
Highly recommend! Great for beginners but very informative if you want to learn more.
-
I loved this class, it was so amazing to learn about this craft, I would highly recommend this course. 100%. Thank you . Coursehorse. For offering this class.
-
-
-
-
We had 3 instructors, and only 1 of them (David) was very helpful and nice.
Our 2nd project was candy dish, I was getting help from Dan - at the end of the project when he picked up my piece to put it into the holding place - it broke. He didn't care about, helping me out to do another one. When I asked him if something could be done - he just walked away to purchase himself coffee. Not really a class, I'll recommend someone to sign up to.
-
The 8 week class has turned into a 4 week class, because of low enrollment. The class is pretty good and the teacher is very knowledgeable and attentive. I wish this class was 8 weeks, but I was given credit towards my next class or studio time.
-
-
super fun and a unique experience!!
-
The class was lots of fun and the instructors were all fantastic. I didn’t give 5 stars because I think there was a lot of wasted time for a “lunch break” and 1/2 demonstration which took place at the end of the day
-
Great instructors! Very hands on learning experience and a lot of fun!
-
-
Instructors were very technically skilled, personally fun to work with, and very patient with us newbies. The class was broken down into steps designed to gradually build on skill and use what was learned in each previous step. I loved the work, the process and the pieces i made. It was definitely great fun in a friendly supportive environment. Go Brooklyn Glass!
-
I am happy that I took this class. The instructors are very knowledgeable and patient and present the techniques in a way that makes it feel manageable. I was nervous at first but there is a lot of support from the instructors as you are learning the various steps. It was fun to learn something totally new and gain an appreciation for the intricacies of blowing and shaping glass.

-
It was a great experience. I loved it very much and grateful to my teacher Alex for such wonderful class!
-
Truth be told, I learned that glass blowing is not my forte. I found the class to be fairly stressful because I realized I have a fear of 2600 degree furnaces! That being said, the instructors, and especially David, were amazingly patient with my nerves and helpful throughout. The class size was small enough that I had a lot of one on one instruction. Miraculously, I left the class with an amazing and fully functional tumbler. Never been more proud of something I crafted!
-
Really loved it!
-
Our instruct Estabon was excellent Very patient with us

-
-
The teachers were really great.
It’s a tough class for beginners but I learned a lot and appreciated the helping hands.
You have to be fearless because you’re dealing with a lot of heat and Super hot materials.
-
The main teacher there , Esteban is so thorough he really made sure to slowly get us all more confident with handling glass and taught us step by step. Really fun day , wholeheartedly recommend it !
-
-
-
Class was a great introduction to glass blowing but keep in mind this is more about exposure to the process than learning how to make something on your own. I was very pleased with the two pieces I made with a LOT of assistance from a TA (who was super patient about listening to what I wanted the piece to look like). I found the TAs to be very helpful. If you are sensitive to heat wear long sleeves (or bring a tube sock) and dip your hand in the water before dipping your rod in the molten glass. Yes there is an oddly timed “lunch” break but it was nice to have a break from the heat and it’s unrealistic to think we could have made an extra piece during the lost time. Given the level of assistance necessary for each student I think the break is likely warranted for the instructors’ sake as well.
-
-
-
Plenty of props for everyone, good explanation of how to use equipment. The assistant assigned to us made a lot of liberties with our mugs and neither my husband or I were happy with our mugs because of her modifications.
-
Really fun class with great instructors! And you get a hand made mug at the end :)
-
Great intro to glass blowing. The time went by so fast I wish it was longer!
-
-
-
-
-
The instructions were wonderful and the course far exceeded my expectations for fun!!
-
-
Excellent way to demystify the glass blowing process. Instructors are patient, professional, and friendly.
-
-
The instructors were helpful, patient and truly knowledgeable of the craft. And you end up with 2 personalized, unique pieces that are made by you. A great experience overall. Highly recommend others taking this course.
-
It was great. The teacher was very knowledgeable and patient.
-
My instructor, Dave was personable and very professional.
-
-
David was fantastic. He made me feel relaxed and confident. He was so knowledgeable about other glassblowing artists. He is exactly the type of professional that I appreciate sharing their medium by teaching course horse sessions!
-
-
-
-
This was a great 1 day class that covered many basics that made it possible to complete our project. Not intimidating at all for a beginner.
The instructors were very knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly.
Great overall vibe! Cool space. Made me want to take more classes!
-
-
This class was so fun! You learn so much and get to pick up two finished pieces the next day. Highly recommend.
-
Great instructors, lots of cool history and plenty of hands on time!
-
-
Fun, interesting, and kept my curiosity almost like a hands on museum of glass
-
-
Great class. Learned A LOT! All the teachers patient and friendly. Had enough time to feel like I kind of knew what I was doing by the end.
-
Loved the class! Great instructors and a truly awesome experience. It was so cool to walk away having made a glass bowl (with help)! The furnace is older and feels extremely hot when you get close to gather your liquid glass (apparently the furnace at Urban Glass is newer and not as painful to stand near). Wish the class provided gloves so that the melted glass didn’t feel so hot near our hands. Also wish they could ship our projects to us instead of having to go back to the studio to pick them up.
-
-
-
Very nice demonstrations. David was attentive and clear in his instruction. Loved being given the extra freedom to practice the techniques he showed however I wanted. Very different than the typical classes that have all students make the same thing at the same time. Loved it and would definitely do this again.
-
Charlie the Teacher was truly exceptional, explained everything, and then we began to create ornaments. It was so much Fun! The Glassworks Center is an amazing place! Try it!
-
This was a great experience! Our teacher was patient and thorough and supportive; the relaxed environment was great-- and most of all, it was both interesting and fun.
-
This was a wonderful class. Our instructor was hands on enough to make sure we were safe and came away with beautiful pieces to take home, while allowing us to really get a feel for the material.
-
Very helpful and knowledgeable instructor, clean space. Highly recommend this class!
-
Mind blowing ! Much more difficult than it looks but the super enthusiastic guys there are with you every step of the way ! A must try !
-
Second class with these guys and they've exceeded expectations again. Will be back for more!

An amazing day!!! The instructors were hands on and so knowledgeable. Everyone who works there is so friendly. Great place to learn
-
-
-
The class was amazing. Far exceeded my expectations of what the day would be like. Daniel was an incredible instructor and everyone's work was stunning. Looking forward to taking more classes at Brooklyn Glass.
-
The instructors were very knowledgeable and patient, keeping us safe while making sure we al had fun. I would definitely do this again and bring my family with me!
-
-
Edgar and Dylan taught an amazing class. Definitely a hands on class. We had a fun, safe and productive class.
They opened up a world of possibility for me considering this media.
-
-
I truly enjoyed the class. I had fun and learned a lot. It was just what I wanted and exceeded my expectations.
-
Great class and amazing instructor and assistant. Hot though......really hot.
-
The course was very informative, and lots of fun. The instructors were knowledgeable, professional, and happy to share their expertise.
-
Had a great day playing with molten glass under Anna's expert guidance.
Highly recommended, especially in this digital age where we rarely partake in the visceral creation of something.
And you get to take home things!
-
-
-
Fantastic and fun day at Brooklyn Glass!
-
Really enjoyable class- instructor gave a brief rundown on the history of glass and rules rules/safety in the studio, then quickly got us on our feet and into the fire as it were. I'd definitely recommend this class.
-
The class was very well run and the ta was patient and friendly. You get to take home your glass art the next day.
-
This is a fantastic class. Highly recommend it. Brooklyn Glass is filled with passionate, down to earth people, who make your experience great.
-
I loved loved this class. Started out learning the basics, and each class built on the previous one so we had a solid foundation. Could see serious improvement from week to week. Edgar is an excellent and patient instructor. Our class started out bigger, and occasionally I wished we had more space to work, as sometimes we were standing around waiting for a turn at the bench, but it became less of an issue as people dropped off. Really fun and challenging class.
-
The class fulfilled my expectations.
Teachers were great at instruction and made the learning fun. They were knowledgeable and able to give us intimate instructions since the class size was small enough.
-
-
Great class. Very informative and hands on. Instructor was very helpful. We had sufficient time to learn and practice and we made great souvenirs :)
-
Great!

Class was fun. Suzie and Michele did a great job with us (true beginners)
-
-
I was really impressed with the teacher, Esteban, and teaching assistants Hannah and Daniel. I made new friends, learned a new craft and had a fantastic time! I will definitely be back for more!
-
Really fun informative and hands on. We worked in small groups and we all had plenty of time to create. The instructors were wonderful.
-
-
-
Everyone was great! Loved the teachers @ Brooklyn Glass!! Definitely recommend the course to everyone!
-
-
There's a lot to like about this class, but it could use some tweaks.
Pros:
You get to make a few different items
Very hands on--you may actually have enough exposure to glassblowing to decide if you'd like to pursue something beyond spending an afternoon in the glassblowing world
Cons:
The workshop isn't really set up for a class and can be really hard to hear the instructor, and you need to be careful you don't get poked by another beginner with molten glass
You have to either go back the next day to pick up your items or pay extra to have them shipped
Ideas:
Hand out heat resistant gloves. I guess they aren't as BA, but for a newbie/someone just looking to spend the afternoon doing a fun activity, helpful.
For a $200 pp price tag in a sweltering room, have water available

This was a great experience working with glass. I have never done anything like this before and I found it very easy to pick up. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who want to learn or try something new.
-
The instructors were awesome and we had a lot of fun! Will definitely be back!
-
Class well taught by Suzi and Dave. Didn't expect to create as much as we did so that was a bonus. Very fun afternoon and finally got to try my hand at glass blowing.
-
-
It was an interesting class. Very intimidating process that eventually became easier. Glad I did it.
-
-
-
Awesome introduction to glassblowing! Instructors were great and the 5 hour class flew by. Definitely makes me want to take another class with them to build on the basic techniques that I learned in this class.
-
-
Really fun class, perfect size as there were 3 of us to an instructor and we each came away with three items. All the instructors have worked with glass for years and also are great teachers, and their enthusiasm was infectious. It was pretty incredible getting to work with molten glass!! It gets super hot so I'd imagine doing this in the cooler months would be best, but I highly recommend it. Definitely think about following their suggestion of cutting holes in a sweat sock to use as an arm shelf from the heat!!

Hello, I quite enjoyed the class that i had taken with you guys. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful when needed. I will definitely will be considering taking another course.
-
-
-
This class was a lot of fun. It felt a little large at times but it was clear the instructors really loved teaching and made sure to not overload us with information. We had enough hands on work that you really working working with the glass yourself but they intervened enough that you were successful at it. Highly recommend it!

excellent instructors, great space, though understandably noisy...

Suzy was a great teacher!!! Loved getting to learn so much so quickly.

-
Loved the one on one learning experience. ..by far one of the coolest experiences I've ever done.. was deffinitly a workshop worth taking and even looking into learning more!
-
-
The glass blowing workshop at Brooklyn Glass was a great experience. The small class size (5 people in total) allowed us to be hands on all throughout the class. The instructor gave us an interesting history on glass and glass blowing, and demonstrated the steps of the process. We practiced the technique with the tools before handling hot glass many times until we memorized it and were comfortable with it. Both the instructor and the assistant gave us useful tips along the way that helped improve our technique and safety. Once we got working, we each made four glass flowers and a vase. We all worked together, but at times it felt like the instructor and assistant could have been guiding and supervising us more closely when we were on our own, especially since we were working with furnaces and glass that were 2000 degrees Fahrenheit. We wore protective glasses, but our skin reacted strongly to the heat without even directly touching hot surfaces. Bare arms and hands ended up red, splotchy and blistered. It wasn't painful, but it was uncomfortable. I felt like we should have at least been wearing gloves to protect our hands. The instructor also seemed to become impatient if we weren't doing everything exactly right. He could have had a more gentle approach, especially since this was our very first time working with glass. Overall it was a fun class with a few things that could be improved but I would recommend it.
-
The class was super interesting, but very long. The instructor had a very thick accent and it was loud in the studio so it was very difficult to hear him for the majority of the time. I also think they need to really have the students wear gloves or enforce wearing hand/arm protectors. Everyone in my class left with either blisters, or red blotches on their arm/neck from the extreme heat of the furnace. I don't know how safe that was for us to be working there unsupervised part of the time when the instructor and assistant were off helping someone else. Also, the instructor didn't seem to love being there or very excited about teaching.
-
-
This was a fun class and a cool experience but definitely a lot of work! The instructor was very knowledgeable.
-
The small class size made for a very hands-on and thorough learning experience. It was just the right length, and the instruction was fantastic.
-
Highly recommended.
-
-
I had so much fun. Instructors were great. I hope to be back for more!
-
-
Really great! Anna was an awesome instructor. There were only 2 of us in class so we each got to make lots of cups. Definitely would recommend going with a friend as this is actually more of a partner activity than solo.

It was great! I learn a lot! The teacher was informative and patient, great for any glass beginner
-
-
I loved this class. I hesitated for a long time because of the cost, but I think it was worth it in the end. Our class ratio was 3 students per 1 teacher, which worked out ok, however, I would have preferred 2 to 1. You do have to spend some time waiting for your turn while the others go. The instructors were kind and supportive, patient, and positive. I appreciated their teaching style and all the help they gave me in creating my mug.
-
Instructors made it easy to create pieces right away. Unlike any other art form I've tried. Really liked it.
-
Great experience! Made lots of cool stuff!
-
-
-
This class was incredible! A very well designed class where we learned how to use the tools through instruction and application. Each piece we created built on the previous one. It was wonderful! I will recommend it to friends. Alison De Noia
-
Fantastically interesting, hands on, we made lots of pieces. Everyone was welcomed, looked after. A brilliant day!
-
-
-
This was a great class - the instructors were amazing!! The only thing I wish was that we would have made more ornaments. We made one - but also got to make a bowl, and 2 flowers. It was great, I just wish I had more ornaments... :(

Esteban was an excellent teacher and the class was very fun!

Great class. The instructors were very good and it was a lot of fun. I'm planning on going back to learn more.

Really fun birthday gift for my husband. Our creations weren't the prettiest but I would still highly recommend this class. All the instructors were lovely. Note that you can't take your glassware homework you that day due to the cooling process, so be ready to come back the nxt day to collect them.

I felt that the teacher was very knowledgeable and fun to learn from. The facility was clean and very roomy. The class was set up before I got there, which made it easy to jump right in. The people there were all so nice. I had a great time and learned a lot

It's definitely a fun class! The instructor I got teamed up with was pretty straightforward, he only talked when he needed to tell you the next step. Definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to try this medium...so much fun!!!
