Born in Hamburg, Germany, Appel received his BA from SUNY New Paltz. His work has been shown at Brookgreen Gardens, SC and recognized by the National Sculpture Society. Appel also teaches at Visual Arts Center of New Jersey in Summit, NJ.

Great experience! Students are encouraged to find their own creativity while technical issues of clay or metal are easily taught. Teacher is dedicated and very aware of each student necesities and curiosities.
