Good and fun instructor explained everything well and learned a lot about welding in addition to having about 1hr of weld time from the 3 hour class.

Amazing instructor who seems really into his craft. Very knowledgeable. You get to cut, bend and weld metal and some minor wood work. You end up with a nice looking planter stand. Will be taking the knife making class next.

Great experience! Nothing to be intimidated about at all. Instructor was a real pleasant fellow and very approachable. He made it very easy to learn and follow along all the steps towards crafting your own handmade knife. Highly recommend......

The teacher was great and we were able to complete our knives. It would have been good to have a few more working spaces, but otherwise I had a great experience.

Liam was a great instructor which made the class even better. I’ve never done any woodwork or metalwork in my life but I was able to have a nice mini table at the end!

Fun and educational class. Provided us with the materials and guidance to create our own finished blades. Only thing I would change, I wish we had the option to be apart of the heat treating process.

The project (cutting metal rod and plates to length with an angle grinder, bending the rod into U-shaped table legs, drilling holes in plates, welding legs to plate, cutting wood top to desired size, assembling and finishing the small table and welding on a cross-bracing rod) was fun and easy to follow, though only one person could do each step at a time, and quarters in the shop were a bit cramped. It worked well for our very small class size, though, and the instructor was attentive. We finished early, and I happily toted my table-stool-hutch-thing home on the subway. It makes a nice midcentury/industrial-looking plant stand (Note: if you opt to stain the wooden top of your table, plan to clear-coat it when you get home, or it will still smell of stain a month later...)

This class was a great experience to be able to get hands on with tools I normally wouldn’t have access to. Liam was incredibly knowledgeable in the knife making process and helpful with teaching on how to get the most out of the tools we had available.

This class was just as it says, a good introduction to Knife Making. I got to choose from 2 different types and sizes of high carbon steel bar stock, and design a stencil for the rough shape of my blade. After learning about the reduction technique, I got experience using tools like the angle grinder, belt sander, drill press, files and other abrasives, to remove steel, drill pin holes, and shape my knife. After a heat treatment, I got to finish my blade in the second class, by removing forge scale, constructing and shaping a handle, and finally, grinding and polishing bevels and edges! Though the workshop space could feel a little tight at times (with 6 students), the instructor, Liam, did an excellent job of sharing knowledge, and getting students plenty of time with the tools they needed. I highly recommend this class to anyone that is new to, or curious about, the skill and process of knife making.

There were five of us and one instructor, which wasn't a great ratio. About half of the class is spent waiting on others, and instructions came intermittently. I was happy to learn how to weld, use a table saw and an axle grinder...but there was little organization to the flow of the class. We were more or less rushed into the thick of it - no introductions or names exchanged, just a quick explanation of what we were doing and instructions to grab materials. I think an initial safety overview and broad strokes of an outline for the class would be a great way to start the workshop. I'd go back, but with different expectations.

Overall it was pretty fun and informative but it's 4 hours that could be done in 2. Most of the time 4 out of 6 people have to just sit around waiting to use equipment since there is only 1 of each piece of machinery.

The class was fantastic, very hands-on. As other reviews said, it did get a bit bottlenecked for the welding and blowtorch stations, but very informative and fun, all the same.

In 3hr I think I got about 30minutes of training. There was only one welding machine available for 7 students. The teacher was very nice, but essentially would do a one-on-one session with each person while the others stood and watched. There has to be a better way. Maybe he could have given us something else to do like metal shaping or finishing while he instructed others in the welding machine.

Liam was a great instructor, but the class was too big for the resources in the space. The woodworking was an afterthought, and we only did a very small amount of welding.
