Alessandra Ziviani

Teaches at La Scuola at Eataly Flatiron

Alessandra Ziviani is originally from sunny California but is no stranger to the Italian lifestyle. Her father, an "Italiano Vero", was born in Verona, Italy. Her family spent many summers visiting his sister and seven brothers until they eventually moved to the small town of Fumane near the famous Lago di Garda.  Perhaps it was here, in the heart of the Valpolicella and Amarone vinyards, that Alessandra first fell in love with wine. Memories of playing hide and seek through thick, gnarled grapevines and quiet afternoon naps under shaded light green leaves has made Alessandra's passion for viticulture an ever-growing obsession. Alessandra loves talking and teaching about wine and is beyond grateful that she is given ample opportunity for that here at Eataly! She dreams of one day owning her own vineyard and self-sustainable farm, and is working to complete her winemaking certificate thought the UC Davis viticulture program. Alessandra is currently Manzo Ristorante's beverage director - so come by to chat wine!
