Gregory Gentert was born in 1983 in Doylestown, NJ. He obtained his BFA in Photography from RIT and MFA from Columbia University in 2014, completing a thesis body of work on city planner Robert Moses, with photographs taken in wide-ranging locations across the three boroughs. After graduating he traveled through France and Holland, photographing landscapes and self-portraits. He has exhibited at the Fisher Landau Center, Andrew Kreps Gallery, and is the recipient of the Andrew Fisher Fellowship and the Columbia Visual Arts Program Scholarship. Currently his work tackles themes of identity, subjectivity and vision through an on-going series of self-portraiture.
