Kit McDaniel

Teaches at Abrons Arts Center

Raised on the beaches of Florida, Kit McDaniel holds a BFA in dance from FSU, where she graduated with honors. Before college, Kit performed works by Ronen Koresh, Eddie Toussant, Danny Catanach, Densil Adams, and Scott Benson. As a full-scholarship student at the American Dance Festival, she performed repertory by Trisha Brown, Mark Dendy, and Kirstin Kapustik. In 2009, Kit landed the cover for Tom Welsh’s Conditioning For Dancers. Since her arrival to NYC, she has had the privilege to work with artists Larry Keigwin, Judy & Ellen Dennis, Catherine Miller, Mark Dendy, Kirstin Kapustik, Lucy York Struever, Esme Boyce, among others. Kit was honored to be a dancer in San Francisco-based HereNowDanceCollective's "The Dan Wagoner Project," a dance for film set to release nationwide in March 2013. Kit was recently seen in Dir. Travis Greisler's Children Of The Stars: The Orien Experience. Kit is a frequent model for dance photographer Travis Magee Photography and on those rainy days, can be found dancing in music videos and drag queen glam shows. Kit currently dances for Esme Boyce, Kirstin Kapustik & Dancers, and KEIGWIN + COMPANY. When she’s not dancing, Kit is the Marketing|Design Associate for K+C and freelances as a dance ediographer and field market-eer.
