Katherine Lynch, Senior Manager, Kiva US
As Senior Manager of Direct Lending, Katherine oversees all partnerships which provide opportunities for US based low-moderate income entrepreneurs to access Kiva’s community-backed, 0% interest loans.

Prior to joining Kiva 4 years ago, Katherine worked at both Accion East and Grameen America, two other microlenders serving entrepreneurs in NYC and the United States.

An NYC transplant, she’s originally the Bay Area California and completed her undergrad at Washington University in St Louis. Katherine has a Masters in Social Enterprise Administration from Columbia University.

Danielle Kayembe, CEO & Founder, GreyFire Impact
Danielle is a female futurist and serial entrepreneur dedicated to empowering women through her global work in business, social impact, writing and public speaking.

Through her company GreyFire, she advises governments, companies and startups on how to integrate forward-looking initiatives. She was a founding partner in initiatives to bring investors like TechStars, 500 Startups and Wingpact, from Silicon Valley to tour growing tech hubs in Africa.

Danielle is an advisor to social impact startups and a mentor to Columbia University’s business accelerator. She is a frequent speaker on CNBC, at the United Nations, TEDx, Google, General Assembly and other conferences. Danielle is also the author of “The Silent Rise of the Female-Driven Economy” a white paper that re-positions women as central to the future of business and innovation.

Danielle has over 10 years of experience in international consulting and finance in New York, London and sub-Saharan Africa. She has worked on over $25 billion in business transactions for global banks such as Bank of America and HSBC, and advised private equity firms Helios and Kingdom Zephyr on acquisitions in Africa.

Kerwin Tesdell, President, Community Development Venture Capital Alliance (CDVCA)
Kerwin Tesdell is president of the Community Development Venture Capital Alliance, the association of venture capital funds that provide equity financing for businesses that create good jobs, wealth, and entrepreneurial capacity in underinvested areas of the United States and the world. CDVCA serves the industry by providing education and networking opportunities, developing best practices, performing industry research, and supporting positive public policy at the federal and state levels. CDVCA also manages $185 million directly in a combination of business investments and investments in funds. Mr. Tesdell is an adjunct professor at the New York University, teaching Social Venture Capital at the Stern School of Business and Community Development Law at the School of Law.

Prior to joining CDVCA, Mr. Tesdell was a program officer at the Ford Foundation, first in its Office of Program-Related Investments and then in its Economic Development Unit, where he had primary responsibility for the Foundation’s investments and grantmaking for small business finance and job creation. Before that, he was the director of the Community Development Legal Assistance Center, which provides corporate, tax, and real estate legal assistance to community development organizations in New York. He was also an associate with the law firm of Debevoise & Plimpton, where he represented clients in the financial services industry, including private equity investors in businesses and funds. Prior to joining Debevoise, he was a law clerk to federal judge Constance Baker Motley, Chief Judge of the Southern District of New York.

Mr. Tesdell graduated from Harvard College with a degree in economics and holds JD and MBA degrees from New York University, as well as a certificate from the Venture Capital Institute.

Marcos Salazar (@marcossalazar) is a serial social entrepreneur, career coach, speaker, and community-builder. For as long as Marcos has been working in the social impact space, he has also been building businesses.

Marcos has worked in research and leadership development at the American Psychological Association, Girl Scouts, and the White House Project (promoting women to run for office). He is also the founder of two t-shirt companies, a number of social impact blogs, and the author of two books.

Through Be Social Change, Marcos taps into his entrepreneur’s creativity and social good inspiration to help people find and do meaningful work and lead more sustainable lifestyles. Marcos earned a degree from Amherst College and a masters in Organizational Management and an Executive Leadership Coaching certificate from The George Washington University.
