Dan has worked for daily newspapers in New York state since 1979: Staten Island Advance, Albany Times Union, New York Post and currently and for the past 22 years, Newsday. He has covered politics and government at City Hall in and at the Capitol in Albany. He writes a daily news-analysis column on the White House and the national scene attached to Newsday's '1600' newsletter, which looks at politics in the age of Trump. Dan is from Brooklyn with a bachelor's degree from Columbia College.
