Theresa Breland

Teaches at Pace University CPE

Theresa Breland has delivered corporate training for Pace University since 2001. She has navigated among a variety of business training contexts, serving both native and nonnative English speaking professionals in various industries (financial, marketing, nonprofit, environmental) in the public and private sectors. In addition to customized corporate training, Theresa teaches several academic English courses to pre-professional international art and design students. Drawing on innovative adult learning methodologies, she also trains teachers on the techniques of teaching English to adult learners. Theresa began her professional career in the fashion industry, holding various positions in merchandising, sales, planning, and international production. She later earned a master’s degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from Teachers College Columbia University. The combination of her corporate experience and linguistics degree afforded her with the foundation to build a niche in professional business writing. She continuously uncovers the common challenges and the current changes associated with a wide range of professional contexts.

Great, energetic and knowledgeable teacher. Highly recommended if you want to improve in your career or simply in your day-to-day life. The course covered all my needs and I was impressed with the way it was conducted. I look forward to next class in February. Thank you so much organizing those classes.
