Sonya Devi Singh

(Bollywood) Sonya Devi is a Bharatanatyam and Bollywood dance teacher at Arya Dance Academy. She is an alumni of the Fashion Institute of Technology, and just graduated from Hunter College with a BA degree in Anthropology. She has focused extensively on Bharatanatyam and Kathak, but has also trained in Ballet, Bollywood, Modern/Contemporary, Hip Hop, Jazz, and Acting. She has performed classical dance in various venues such as The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Flushing Town Hall, Ganesh Temple, Proctor's Theatre, Ananda Ashram, Elmont Library, Peace Village, and on QPTV's show 'India Talks!'. Sonya considers teaching to be a blessing and this has made the past 5 years at Arya a wonderful experience. She enjoys sharing and preserving our culture and looks forward to seeing Arya students' talent grow even more through the years. She hopes to inspire them as much they inspire her!
