Teaches at General Assembly

CAMERON BRONSTEIN

Through my background in Ecology, I have learned that the best research relies on thoughtful consideration of the different pieces that compose complex natural and human systems. I am now applying my data science skill set to large scale geospatial studies and Earth observation. In both independent and team projects, I bring patience and an observant curiosity to contribute socially and environmentally equitable outcomes to problems of global change.

MATT BREMS

Matt currently is a global instructor for GA's Data Science Immersive program across the United States. Matt is a recovering politico, having worked as a data scientist for a political consulting firm through the 2016 election. Prior to his work in politics, he earned his Master's degree in statistics from The Ohio State University and his undergraduate degree at Franklin College in Indiana. Matt is passionate about putting the revolutionary power of machine learning into the hands of as many people as possible. When he's not teaching, he's volunteering with Statistics Without Borders, thinking about how to be a better teacher, falling asleep to Netflix, and/or cuddling with his pug.

In recognition of his exemplary service in the classroom, Matt has been selected as a member of General Assembly's Distinguished Faculty program and Matt earned the ‘Distinguished Faculty Member of the Year’ award in 2019. Matt also serves as the chair of GA's Product Advisory Board for data science.

J BEIGHTOL

J Beightol is a Data Scientist specializing in Natural Language Processing. His first exposure to the field came while working at a financial consulting firm where he helped banks scrape twitter data to gauge customer sentiment. He completed the Data Science Immersive class in D.C. and worked independently with the French Embassy analyzing visa data and suggesting strategies to boost foreign student visa applications. Currently J is collaborating with Milkshake Tech in Brooklyn to build a website recommendation engine when he isn’t teaching students at General Assembly or playing board games. He received a BA in History with a minor in Economics from Davidson College.

In recognition of his exemplary service in the classroom, J has been selected as a member of General Assembly's Distinguished Faculty program.
