Zoe Xandra

Teaches at Stepping Out Studios

Zoe Xandra is a New York City born dancer, choreographer and performer. At the age of three she began figure skating, and studying at one of the dance industry’s most prominent companies, The Joffrey Ballet. Since she discovered Tango, she has been solely focused on it. In 2009 she traveled to Argentina to learn more about it’s history, and to immerse herself in the culture where it originated. Amongst her teachers are Sara Grdan and Ivan Terrazas, Julio Balmaceda and Corina de la Rosa, Mariano “Chicho” Frumboli and Juana Sepulveda, Sebastian Arce and Mariana Montes, and Pablo Pugliese. Her background also includes Argentine folklore, hip-hop and modern dance along with extensive singers and actors training, which include elements from Alexander technique, and proper breathing for all movement. Her Waldorf Education taught her to balance artistic, academic and practical work to educate the whole person, body, heart and mind.
