Alexis Vondran

Alexis Vondran is a New York City artist and educator whose artistic practice and teaching focus on intuition, exploration, growth, and joy. Alexis believes that everyone is an artist at heart. She fosters a welcoming environment so students feel comfortable experimenting with new mediums, making mistakes, and asking questions.

Alexis is enthusiastic and empathetic in her approach to teaching, blending her fine art background with her art history knowledge to engage students. Focusing on the creative process instead of the final product, Alexis’ classes emphasize creativity and fun for beginners and seasoned artists alike.

Alexis graduated from Elon University with a bachelor’s degree in Art History and Arts Administration, and a minor in Fine Art. At Elon, Alexis received the Judge T. and Allie Brower Warren Scholarship for Art and the Edwina Graff Hughes Johnson Award for Art History. Alexis was also selected to attend the Delaware Governor’s School for Art.

Working in a variety of mediums such as graphite, charcoal, oil and acrylic from a young age, Alexis now focuses primarily on mixed media painting. She has exhibited artwork in establishments throughout her home state of Delaware as well as in the Merge pop-up exhibition in Graham, North Carolina. Alexis’ teaching experience ranges from youth based art summer camps to adult paint & sip classes. She can’t wait to create with you in class!
