Dr. Willard Walden Christopher Ashley, Sr., is the vice president of community relations, director of the Center for Clergy Care, and tenured associate professor of practical theology at New Brunswick Theological Seminary (NBTS). He is also the CEO of Dr. Willard Ashley, Sr., LLC, Montclair, NJ (Psychoanalysis & MFT). Will is the founder and senior pastor of the Abundant Joy Community Church, Jersey City, NJ; vice chair, Andover Newton Seminary at Yale Divinity School; vice chair, Bergen County Human Relations; and a New Jersey State certified psychoanalyst. He has written numerous books and chapters. Fortress Press is publishing his next book, Rules for 21st Century Radicals: Congregations, Collaboration and Community Change. He is in the process of becoming a core trainer for the People’s Institute for Survival and Beyond. At NBTS, Will teaches a required course titled “Race, Class and Gender.” Previously, he was a staff psychotherapist at The Riverside Church, New York City. He hosted a weekly program on Black Entertainment Television (BET) and was on the radio in New York City. Dr. Ashley works with senior-level executives and law firm partners as an executive coach. Memberships include National Association for the Advancement of Psychoanalysis, American Association of Marriage Family Therapists, and the American Group Psychotherapy Association. He is listed in Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in the World.
