What you'll learn in this colored pencil class:

In this class I will demo how to draw a variety of animals using colored pencils (and sometimes markers with colored pencil). I will show the class how to layer, blend, and add texture with a variety of tools which can be purchased ahead of time or found around the house. Students will need to have colored pencils, any type of markers, and watercolor or mixed media paper. Ages 16+ welcome.

Required Supplies

  • Drawing paper with some “tooth” or texture to it. Any sketchbook or mixed media paper will also work.
  • Regular graphite pencil
  • Colored pencils
  • Eraser
  • Something to make scratches in the paper like a stylus, bone folder, or the cap of a ball point pen
  • A “colorless blender“ (this can be ordered on Amazon... this is not mandatory but I will be demonstrating how to use them. Rubbing alcohol will also work, if you do not want to purchase a colorless blender.
