This class is a complete introduction to freediving, the art of exploring underwater on just one breath of air.
You will learn about how to put your body in "freedive mode", how to hold your breath through relaxation and meditation, how to clear your ears, and how to dive.
This is an interactive, small group class. Be prepared to meet your classmates, keep your camera on, and ask lots of questions. You'll spend a lot of the time on practical exercises, like clearing your ears, and learning to comfortably hold your breath. Please have a space where you can lie down without being disturbed.
This class includes a rigorous treatment of the safety principles of freediving, and a Freediving Safety Exam which you can count towards an official AIDA 1* (Beginner) or AIDA 2* (Intermediate) Freediver Certification. If you are looking to take a freediving class in the ocean, taking this online class and passing the Safety Exam is all the preparation you need for that.
Preparation:
All you need to bring to class is any freediving or snorkeling equipment (such as mask, snorkel, fins) that you already own.
