DeAnna Roberts specializes in macro and portrait photography.

DeAnna has had a life-long love affair with photography since her father handed her an old Kodak Discman camera he picked up at a rummage sale for twenty-five cents when she was growing up in northern Minnesota. Largely self-taught in the photography arts, DeAnna honed her skills over the 25+ years she has been capturing the world around her, and her talents were spotted and further nurtured while assisting at the Aperture Academy; where she now teaches specialized workshops in portrait and macro composition, as well as getting her hands dirty participating in field workshops in rugged Alaska, Costa Rica, Yosemite National Park, and other locations.

DeAnna has the rare talent of being able to recognize the potential of a shot and expertly compose to convey emotions that words simply cannot. Her experience photographing landscapes, wildlife, people, and just about everything in between has given her the knowledge and skill to instill those new to photography with the basics for taking great shots, as well as help those more seasoned photographers enhance their craft.

DeAnna currently resides in Los Gatos, California with her faithful dog Molly. When she’s not teaching, she’s out pursuing her passion and canvassing for that next great shot to add to her portfolio.
