Steve Edmiston

Teaches at General Assembly

Steve Edmiston is a business, entertainment, and intellectual property attorney with Bracepoint Law in Seattle, the founder of Quadrant45, and the Director of Hero Relations for the non-profit startup The Sidekick Collective. He is also an independent film writer and producer; his feature films include Crimes of the Past, A Relative Thing, Farewell to Harry, and The Periphery Project. His award-winning shorts include The Day My Parents Became Cool, Thr33, and most recently, the Washington Filmworks Innovation Lab recipient The Maury Island Incident (short film and web series distributed by IndieFlix and Hulu) and the documentary Reinventing the Patriot. 

As co-founder and President of Front Porch Classics, Steve was also the designer of numerous award-winning board game titles including Dread Pirate, Stretch Run, Master and Commander, and Barista. He frequently speaks to film and toy-and-game industry groups on subjects of entrepreneurship, crowdsourcing, and protecting intellectual properties; currently serves on the Port Townsend Film Festival Board of Directors, as a Washington Filmworks Innovation Lab Juror, as a Washington State University Center for Entrepreneurship Business Plan Competition Judge; and teaches screenwriting at the University of Washington and film producing at the Seattle Film Institute.
