Zach Thomas, Javi Calderon & Vincent Brathwaite

Teaches at General Assembly

Zach is the principal consultant for Rules + Rebels, a cause marketing and engagement strategy consultancy based out of Annapolis, MD. Prior to Rules + Rebels, Zach led digital strategy and brand development at Willow Marketing, out of Indianapolis. He has worked largely in the higher education and nonprofit marketing space, focusing on campaign development, brand evangelism and social engagement. He’s a console gaming, gifs and craft beer enthusiast, an advocate for mentoring and social justice, and supporter of College Mentors for Kids and Delta Upsilon Fraternity. A Floridian born-and-raised, Zach graduated from the University of North Florida, where he studied psychology and journalism.

In recognition of his exemplary service in the classroom, Zach has been selected as a member of General Assembly's Distinguished Faculty program. Zach serves on GA's Product Advisory Board for our design courses.

Over the last decade, Javi has worked at a variety of tech startups in a range of roles and responsibilities, including: copywriting, content strategy, inbound marketing, product marketing, education and design.

In 1997, Vincent J. Brathwaite began his design career by working as a product design intern. He spent over 20 years studying and working as a multi-disciplinary designer in the areas of UX design, Visual Design, Industrial Design, and Branding. He studied Industrial Design at RISD (Rhode Island School of Design), Product and Graphic Design at Strate College in France, Product Development at MIT, Project Management at General Assembly, and UX Design at The Futur.

As an instructor for General Assembly in Los Angeles and New York, Vincent has taught over 200 adults Visual Design and UX Design. Many of them are now designers at companies such as Google, American Express, Prudential Financial, Spotify and more.

In recognition of his exemplary service in the classroom, Vincent has been selected as a member of General Assembly's Distinguished Faculty program. Vincent serves as a member of GA's Product Advisory Board for our design courses.
