What you'll learn in this improv class:

"Improv" is the practice of unplanned interaction with others. As much as we would like to rehearse and practice our lines for critical moments, there's no script sitting on our desk each morning, outlining all the things we'll say and do throughout the day. Learning simple tools for improvising better is a highly effective way to improve individual and team outcomes in any industry.

In this class, participants will learn basic improv techniques that can be applied to their everyday professional interactions. These techniques include communication skills for active listening, collaboration, co-creation, creativity and extemporaneous speaking. This workshop is a physically engaging, often surprising, and highly enjoyable way to help you achieve your goals. It is for anyone who wants to explore self development, learn how to use improv games to improve their life, find more connection, improve mood, and support change.

Takeaways
  • Working Through Uncertainty - Discover what makes you comfortable and uncomfortable and how to take healthy risks everyday.
  • Embracing Failure - Learn how to use mistakes and failures as learning opportunities. Practice embracing failure as a unique kind of opportunity for personal growth.
  • Get a shift in perspective, feel more connected, and have more self compassion and empathy.
Preparation
Students should wear comfortable clothing and footwear and bring a spirit of fun and playfulness!

School Notes:
For students enrolling in 12 week part time and immersive classes, it is not recommended that you book more than one class simultaneously.
