It's almost become routine to hear that a company or government entity has been the victim of a cyberattack. There is a lot of conversation about our data being shared; it seems that individual privacy has gone the way of the Dodo. Every day thousands of individuals are impacted in a serious way.
Threats to our cities, states, and nation could easily materialize. This class is geared specifically for you, the average user of anything that "connects." Become informed about the threats to your data and privacy and arm yourself with real tools and techniques that will significantly decrease your risk in this cyber era.
Chris Murphy, a certified cybersecurity professional, brings to home users the fundamentals of strong computing practice effectively used by industry in an understandable, interactive, and entertaining way. This is your chance to learn how to surf safely and better protect your privacy.
NOTE: This course will be offered via Zoom. Register now and then prior to class the instructor will send you the link to attend. Look for an email with "CFU Zoom class" in the subject line. Good internet connection and a laptop or device with camera and mic is needed.

This course is available for "remote" learning and will be available to anyone with access to an internet device with a microphone (this includes most models of computers, tablets). Classes will take place with a "Live" instructor at the date/times listed below.
Upon registration, the instructor will send along additional information about how to log-on and participate in the class.

If CFU cancels a class, you have the option for a full refund of the tuition or to move your registration to another session of the class.
If you cannot attend a class you must contact the registration office at least 72 hours prior to your first class meeting. There are no refunds if you cancel out of/cannot attend your class. With 72 hours advanced notice we can transfer you to another available class or give you a non-refundable tuition credit to use towards another class in the future. There will be a $7 transaction fee for dropping or transferring out of the original class.
If you need to cancel out of a Computer class with less than 72 hours advanced notice, there is no credit issued, but you will be able to take the class at a later time on a standby basis (waiting until the day before to opt in so that CFU knows that the class is running and that there is space).
If you need to cancel a Spanish class under 72 hours, you will receive a non-refundable class credit for 50% of the tuition for the class. Tuition credit is valid for one year from date of issue and cannot be redeemed for cash and is non-refundable. There is no option for dropping a class after the class has begun.
